Day 11 · Evening Devotional
Night Watches
Scripture
"When I remember you on my bed, and meditate on you in the night watches." — Psalm 63:6 (WEB)
Teaching
David made a practice of meditating on God during the night watches. In ancient Israel, the night was divided into watches — periods of vigilance when soldiers guarded the city. David turned these wakeful hours into worship hours.
If you find yourself awake tonight — whether by design or circumstance — use it as an opportunity to meet with God. Some of the deepest encounters with God happen in the stillness of the night, when the world is quiet and distractions are few.
Let the night watches become holy moments. Whisper prayers. Meditate on Scripture. Listen for God's voice. The night is not wasted when it is spent with God.
Reflection
How do you typically spend wakeful moments at night? How could you transform them into communion with God?
Prayer
Lord, I meditate on You as I lie in bed. Turn my restless moments into worship. Speak to me in the quiet of the night. Let every wakeful moment be an opportunity to draw closer to You. Amen.
✦ Declaration
The night watches belong to God. I use every quiet moment to worship, meditate, and commune with my Father.
