Day 13 · Evening Devotional
Gratitude Before Sleep
Scripture
"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you." — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (WEB)
Teaching
Gratitude is the will of God for your life. Not just when things go well, but in everything. This is a radical practice — one that transforms how we see our lives and how we experience God's presence.
Research has shown that practising gratitude before sleep improves sleep quality, reduces anxiety, and increases overall wellbeing. But more importantly, it aligns our hearts with God's will and opens us to His joy.
Tonight, end your day with gratitude. Thank God for three things — however small. A hot cup of tea. A friend's message. A moment of clarity in prayer. Gratitude turns what we have into enough.
Reflection
What three things are you most grateful for tonight? How can you make evening gratitude a daily habit?
Prayer
Father, I give thanks in everything. For today's blessings and even today's challenges — for in all things, You are working for my good. I end this day with a grateful heart. Amen.
✦ Declaration
I give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for me. Gratitude fills my heart, and joy overflows.
