Mid-Fast Reflection
Scripture
"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way." — Psalm 139:23-24 (WEB)
Teaching
You have reached the midpoint of many fasting programmes. This is a good time for honest self-examination. David's prayer in Psalm 139 is bold: "Search me, God." He invited God to look into the deepest parts of his heart.
This is not about condemnation — it is about purification. When we invite God to search us, He does so with the tenderness of a surgeon, not the cruelty of a critic. He reveals what needs to change so He can lead us in the everlasting way.
Tonight, be honest with God. Are there attitudes, habits, or relationships that need attention? Is there sin to confess? Is there obedience delayed? Let God search you, and let Him lead you forward.
Reflection
What has God been revealing to you during this fast that needs to change? How will you respond to His gentle correction?
Prayer
Lord, search me and know my heart. Reveal anything in me that does not please You. I want to walk in Your way. Cleanse me, refine me, and lead me in the everlasting path. Amen.
