Day 16 · Evening Devotional

Quiet Confidence

Scripture

"In returning and rest you will be saved. In quietness and in confidence will be your strength." — Isaiah 30:15 (WEB)

Teaching

The world tells us that strength looks like striving, hustling, and pushing forward. But God says that strength is found in quietness and confidence. Returning to Him. Resting in Him. Trusting Him. This is countercultural, especially in a world that never stops. But God's economy is different. He gives power to the faint, and strength to those who have no might (Isaiah 40:29). His strength shows up most powerfully when we stop striving and start trusting. Tonight, stop striving. Stop performing. Stop trying to figure it all out. Simply return to God, rest in His promises, and let quietness and confidence become your strength.
Reflection

Where have you been striving in your own strength instead of resting in God's? How can you practise quiet confidence?

Prayer

Lord, I return to You tonight. I stop striving and rest in Your promises. My strength is not in my effort but in Your faithfulness. Give me quiet confidence as I sleep. Amen.

✦ Declaration

In quietness and confidence is my strength. I rest in God's faithfulness. I do not strive; I trust. And in trusting, I am strong.
