The God Who Never Sleeps
Scripture
"He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." — Psalm 121:3-4 (WEB)
Teaching
While you sleep, God is awake. While you rest, He is working. While you are unconscious of the world around you, He is conscious of every detail of your life.
This is one of the most comforting truths in Scripture. You do not need to stay awake worrying about what might happen in the night. God is on watch. He who keeps you will not slumber.
Soldiers sleep in confidence because they know a guard is posted. Children sleep peacefully because they know a parent is near. Tonight, sleep with the confidence that the God of the universe is your watchman. He never clocks off.
Reflection
How does knowing God is always awake and watching change how you approach bedtime? What do you need Him to watch over tonight?
Prayer
Father, thank You that You never sleep. While I rest, You are awake and watching. I trust You with my night. Guard my home, my family, and my heart. I sleep in peace because You are on watch. Amen.
