Day 18 · Evening Devotional

Healing While You Sleep

Scripture

"For he gives sleep to his beloved." — Psalm 127:2 (WEB)

Teaching

Sleep is God's gift. It is His design for restoration — physical, mental, and emotional. During sleep, your body heals, your mind processes, and your spirit rests. It is not wasted time; it is sacred time. During fasting, adequate rest is especially important. Your body is working hard, and sleep is when much of the repair happens. Honour your body's need for rest, and trust that God is doing a work in you even while you sleep. God gives sleep to His beloved — and you are His beloved. Receive this gift tonight. Do not resist rest or feel guilty for sleeping. It is an act of faith to lay down your productivity and trust that God will accomplish what you cannot.
Reflection

How do you view sleep — as a gift or a necessity? How can you receive it more intentionally as God's gift?

Prayer

Lord, I receive the gift of sleep tonight. Let my body be healed, my mind be restored, and my spirit be refreshed. Do Your work in me while I rest. Amen.

✦ Declaration

God gives sleep to His beloved, and I am His beloved. I rest in His care and wake renewed by His grace.
