Day 5 · Evening Devotional
Counting Your Blessings
Scripture
"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits." — Psalm 103:2 (WEB)
Teaching
David reminded his own soul not to forget God's benefits. It's easy to fixate on what we lack and overlook what we have. But when we count our blessings, gratitude replaces anxiety and joy displaces discontent.
God's benefits include forgiveness, healing, redemption, love, compassion, satisfaction, and renewal (Psalm 103:3-5). Tonight, review your day through the lens of blessing rather than burden.
Let this be your evening practice during this fast: before you sleep, name the blessings. Even small ones count — a warm bed, food on the table, someone who loves you, breath in your lungs. A grateful heart sleeps well.
Reflection
List as many blessings as you can from today. How does this exercise change your perspective on the day?
Prayer
Father, I bless Your name and count my blessings tonight. You forgive, heal, redeem, and crown me with love. I will not forget Your benefits. Fill my sleep with gratitude and peace. Amen.
✦ Declaration
I count my blessings, and they are many. God's benefits overflow in my life. I am grateful, content, and blessed.
