Day 16 · Morning Devotional
Walking in the Spirit
Scripture
"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfil the lust of the flesh." — Galatians 5:16 (WEB)
Teaching
The Christian life is not lived by willpower alone — it is lived by the power of the Holy Spirit. Walking in the Spirit means being led, empowered, and guided by God's Spirit in every area of life.
When we walk in the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control — naturally grows in our lives. We don't have to manufacture these qualities; they are produced by the Spirit working within us.
Fasting heightens our sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. As the flesh is denied, the spirit becomes more attuned to God's leading. Today, pay attention to the gentle nudges, the quiet convictions, and the peaceful assurances of the Holy Spirit.
Reflection
How aware are you of the Holy Spirit's leading in your daily life? What would it look like to be more attentive to His guidance?
Prayer
Holy Spirit, I invite You to lead me today. Help me to walk in step with You. Produce Your fruit in my life and guide me in every decision. I yield to Your leading. Amen.
✦ Declaration
I walk by the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is evident in my life. I am led, empowered, and guided by the Holy Spirit of God.
