Day 17 · Morning Devotional

The Armour of God

Scripture

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." — Ephesians 6:10-11 (WEB)

Teaching

We are in a spiritual battle — not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and spiritual forces of wickedness. But God has not left us defenceless. He has given us spiritual armour: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. During fasting, spiritual warfare can intensify. The enemy does not want you to complete this journey. He will try to discourage you, distract you, or tempt you to give up. But when you stand in the full armour of God, you are invincible. Put on your armour today. Stand firm. The battle belongs to the Lord.
Reflection

Which piece of the armour of God do you need to strengthen most right now? How can you intentionally "put it on" today?

Prayer

Father, I put on the full armour of God. I stand strong in Your might. I am equipped for battle, and I will not be defeated. The enemy is under my feet through the victory of Jesus Christ. Amen.

✦ Declaration

I am dressed in the full armour of God. I stand against every scheme of the enemy. The battle belongs to the Lord, and the victory is already mine.
