Rivers of Living Water
Scripture
"He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water." — John 7:38 (WEB)
Teaching
Jesus promised that those who believe in Him would have rivers of living water flowing from within them. This is the Holy Spirit — a never-ending, ever-flowing source of life, power, and refreshment.
Notice that Jesus said rivers, not a trickle. The Holy Spirit does not come in meagre portions. He is an overflowing, abundant, unstoppable river of life. And He flows not just for you but through you to others.
During fasting, the Holy Spirit's flow intensifies. As you set aside physical sustenance, spiritual sustenance increases. Let the rivers flow today — in your prayers, in your worship, in your interactions with others. Be a channel of God's living water to a thirsty world.
Reflection
How can you be a channel of God's living water to someone today? Who needs the refreshment of His Spirit through you?
Prayer
Lord, let rivers of living water flow from within me. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Let Your life, love, and power overflow from my life to bless everyone around me. Amen.
