Day 21 · Morning Devotional
Drawing Near — Finishing Strong
Scripture
"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." — James 4:8 (WEB)
Teaching
As you draw your fasting journey to a close (or continue into the coming days), remember the promise with which we began: "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." This is not a one-time event — it is a lifestyle.
The purpose of fasting is not merely to abstain from food for a set number of days. It is to reorient your life around God's presence, His Word, and His purposes. The habits formed during this fast — prayer, Bible reading, worship, declaration — are meant to continue long after the fast ends.
Finish strong. Whether this is day 21 of 21 or day 21 of 100, you are not the same person you were when you started. God has been doing a deep work in you. Celebrate what He has done, and keep drawing near.
Reflection
How have you changed since the beginning of this fast? What habits or disciplines will you carry forward?
Prayer
Father, I draw near to You today and always. Thank You for meeting me in this fast. Continue the work You have begun in me. I commit to seeking Your face beyond this fasting season. In Jesus' name, Amen.
✦ Declaration
I draw near to God, and He draws near to me. I am transformed by this journey. I will continue to seek God with all my heart, all my days.
