Day 27 · Morning Devotional

Living Sacrifices

Scripture

"Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service." — Romans 12:1 (WEB)

Teaching

Under the old covenant, sacrifices were dead animals laid on an altar. But under the new covenant, God asks for living sacrifices — our entire lives offered to Him daily. Fasting is a powerful expression of the living sacrifice. When you deny your body food and offer your time to God in prayer and worship, you are saying: "My body, my time, and my appetite belong to You, Lord." Being a living sacrifice is harder than it sounds. Dead sacrifices don't crawl off the altar — but living ones sometimes try to. Today, stay on the altar. Offer your whole self to God — your time, your talents, your struggles, your successes.
Reflection

What does it practically mean to be a "living sacrifice" in your daily routine? What areas are you tempted to take back from the altar?

Prayer

Father, I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. I hold nothing back. My life is Yours — every moment, every decision, every breath. Use me for Your glory. Amen.

✦ Declaration

I am a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. My life is fully surrendered to Him. I live not for myself but for His glory.
